Anime Baka

Anime - Japanese Animation
Baka - Japanese word for idiot or fool

Loosely put an Anime Baka is someone who's crazy about Anime. However interpretation's may vary. I tend to think of Anime Baka as meaning something like drooling fan boy/girl.

Anime Baka Contact

Wrote this a long time ago. Too short for an article:
Perverted - Hentai in Japanese. But the word pervert means deviation from normal or accepted. So, how can all guys be perverts?

Did you ever notice that the sex scene in the movie is generally at about the same realative place as the guitar solo in a song?

ECM - Electronic Speed Control
Updated: 2009-06-22.txt

I read a little blurb on how ESMs work. They do it by switching the motor on and off very quickly (pulsing). I was thinking that they were doing something advanced to vary the voltage. Early units varied the voltage with resistance, but that method is wasteful of power and generates a lot of heat (from the wasted power). Pulsing the motor does not waste any power. It's on for X milliseconds and off for X milliseconds. ESCs use several FETs (Field Effect Transistors) which cause the high pitched wine especially associated with low RPMs. These produce a very smooth and precise motor speed variation. In essence it's a Pulse Width Modulation controller.

They generally accept a nominal 50Hz PWM servo input signal with a pulse with varying from 1ms to 2ms. At 1ms it's at a 50% cycle and at 2ms it's at a 100% cycle. Hmmm. How do you get it below 50%? I know you find a better article on the internet. B-)

DIY - Electronic Speed Control:

So what does this all mean? It means that it is possible to control the speed of one or more electric motors from an Ardurino that is already controlling the rest of the ship. It means that you can eliminate yet another piece of equipment from the boat and save yourself $50 or so. Also this should give finer control and customization to your motor speeds. All the Ardurino has to do is toggle power to a power resistor (possibly more than one) controlling power to the ships motors.
