Loosely put an Anime Baka is someone who's crazy about Anime. However interpretation's may vary. I tend to think of Anime Baka as meaning something like drooling fan boy/girl.

Ship That Re-Floats Itself

This is an idea that I've had since first seeing fighting model ships. You could rig up a system to re-float a ship on command. The obvious method of doing this is with air bladders that fill with low pressure air from the CO2 system. The problem is the bladders can easily blow out sections of the ship, so the bladders will need to be filled with low pressure air (the lowest pressure that will fill them at normal depths). It looks like this would be 20 to 25 psi of pressure which should get you 15 to 20 feet of safety margin, less pressure would be unable to fill the bladders.

A safer approach would be to make the bladders enclosed so that they could not lever against internal structures. In any case the area that the bladder is supposed to fill into must be relatively free of obstructions. Positive bouncy foam placed thought the hull could also bring the flooded hull to a near buoyant state only requiring small bladders to achieve positive buoyancy. However this may be against the rules, I'm not sure.

So with just one oz of C02 left in a ships typical 14oz or 20oz bottle, you could easily re-float the ship.

The second method I came up with involves venting the C02 to the body of the ship at a constant rate. The gas should not exit the ship immediately, much better if the ship is well sealed. This could also refloat the ship. This method may work better or worse in practice. The nice thing about it is that no real internal space is used up. The not so nice thing is that a lot of C02 would probably be used. Also if too high of a pressure were used the ship could be be blow apart.

1 cubic inch of water weighs 0.036127 lbs. So you would need to displace 28 cubic inches of water for each lb of lift. 280 cubic inches of water would probably be enough to lift most scale warships as they already have significant buoyancy (10lbs lift). Certainly twice this would lift any ship (20lbs lift). Note here that the goal is not to put the ship back on top of the water, but to raise it to the top of the water so that it can motor back to shore.

Increasing the buoyant value of the ship would make this much easier. So if I stashed foam around the ship. Hmmm, what if the super structure was built out of foam with wood/plastic covering it. Alternately I could make it hollow out of wood/plastic and then fill it with a liquid foam. That would provide quite a lot of lift. You'd have to be careful to make sure the ship would sink. But I doubt anybody would complain about foam in the super structure. It would only be buoyant with the ship almost completely submerged.

So, get the boat to a balanced buoyancy, so that It almost floats when sunk and then ether have a few bladders or flood the hull with C02 and it will pop up like a cork.

You could make the turret barbarettes come down to meet the turrets. You could provide a mostly air tight chamber from the deck down to about an inch or two by extending ribs down creating air tight compartments along the under side of the deck. However these could also prevent the boat from sinking in the first place as they would trap air as it sank. You might end up with a ship that only sinks to the deck being level with the water.
