Anime Baka

Anime - Japanese Animation
Baka - Japanese word for idiot or fool

Loosely put an Anime Baka is someone who's crazy about Anime. However interpretation's may vary. I tend to think of Anime Baka as meaning something like drooling fan boy/girl.

Anime Baka Contact

Wrote this a long time ago. Too short for an article:
Perverted - Hentai in Japanese. But the word pervert means deviation from normal or accepted. So, how can all guys be perverts?

Did you ever notice that the sex scene in the movie is generally at about the same realative place as the guitar solo in a song?

2010-11-19 Aural Vampire
Wednesday we went to see Aural Vampire at Slim's 333 club in San Francisco. It was a great show, but the seating for desirable was less than desirable. Bevy had trouble seeing over the crowd all night. A hydraulic unit that raises her electric wheelchair seat a couple feet would be great.

Aural Vampire gave a great show but as they were openers only got to do a couple songs. I was able to buy an album and thanks to Bevy even got it signed. Their CDs are not even available on ebay. I tried taking pictures but failed with the poor lighting, so I settled on taking some video which worked better.

Next up was Dommin. They sound a little like a softer Danzing. Bevy loved their sound and got her picture with the singer. I also liked their music.

After them was Black Veil Brides. They have a harsher sound, sorta light metal or really hard rock. They look like Motley Crue. The band was great, but the lead singer was a whining baby. He kept fighting with people and was trowing water bottles at the crowd at high speed. I think he threw about 20 in the course of the act all the time whining about how it doesn't matter if people like them or not it's about believing in themselves, oh and "suck my dick". I heard that several people got hurt being hit by water bottles and had stuff wrecked by the water. Get that guy some medication or get a new vocalist.

The Headliner was The Birthday Massacre. They were great! Very nice combination of darkness with a touch of metal. They reminded me a bit of Depeche Mode but darker and heavier. The light vocals work great. Chibi was everywhere all night long. She was always very approachable and talkative. On stage she was jumping around with unlimited energy in her Japanese schoolgirl outfit. We'll be following them.

We both had a good time. Bevy was afraid she'd hate it, but she really enjoyed herself. Too bad she couldn't see very well. They need an elevated area for wheel chairs. I really hope that Black Veil Brides get told not to come back by Slim's. I've seen a lot of shows, some of them with stage diving and mosh pits, I've never seen such low behavior.
